About SpeedDatingDiary's Struggle!
We started working on this website in December 2006 and have spent a great deal of time, effort and money trying to make it the best site around for providing information about UK dating events. We want it to be more comprehensive and therefore more useful to the people who use it, than any other site. We hope we have achieved this... what do you think?
BUT...
Sadly, we can't keep it going. The amount we are having to pay Google and the other search engines is simply too great for us to keep the site running. The commissions we make back on sales from this site are generally outwieghed by the fees we pay Google for sponsored listings, so how can we keep it running when it's making a loss? We've already optimised the site well for good search rankings, but because it is a new site and doesn't have the complex scripts that allow other sites to prosper, Google penalises us. Perhaps we should start to try other marketing techniques, like PR and press advertising. What do you think? Email me.
